It’s official, the Berwick School Board has accepted head football coach George Curry‘s resignation, according to The Citizens Voice.
The 7-2 vote earlier this week means that 2015 will be the last season at Berwick for America’s fifth winningest high school football. Curry resigned after school officials shut-down the program in May for two weeks during an internal investigation into alleged recruiting violations within the program.
Curry, who led the school to six state titles and three “mythical” national championships, has a lifetime record of 446-99-5.
