Buford found itself in trouble for the first time all year in the Georgia AAAA championship game on Saturday at the Georgia Dome, however, the Wolves did what all championship-caliber teams do – they dug deep.
Buford, which finished the regular season ranked #14 in the High School Football America Top 25, assured itself of a Top 20 finish when our final rankings come-out next week by beating St. Pius X 55-10 for its third straight state title. The final score is a bit deceiving because Buford trailed 10-0 with 4:18 to go in the first quarter, according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.
The Wolves have now won ten state titles since 2001 and will bring a 40-game win streak in the 2015 season.
