Seven-time defending 4A state champ Dowling Catholic begins 2020 in a very familiar position…on top of the High School Football America Iowa Top 10 statewide rankings. The Maroons and West Des Moines Valley start this season No. 1 and No. 2, the same spot they finished last year.

During Week 2 of 2019, Valley beat Dowling 29-22 for the Maroons’ only loss of last season. In the state championship, DC gained revenged with a 21-16 victory over the Tigers. The two will meet again this year in Week 2 on September 4.
Checking-in at No. 3 is Ankeny, which will open the season on Friday against rival Ankeny Centennial that opens No. 6.
Rounding-out the top five are Cedar Rapids’ Kennedy High at No. 4 and Bettendorf at No. 5.
At No. 7 is defending 3A champ Western Dubuque, followed by Cedar Falls at No. 8, Waukee at No. 9 and Lewis Central at No. 10.
