For the first time since 2016, Elk River is a Minnesota high school football state champ. Saturday night, the Elks beat defending AAAAA champ Mankato West 29-26 in the final game of the seven-game Prep Bowl championships at U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings.
Elk River used a powerful ground game that rolled-up 400 yards rushing.
The loss ends Mankato West’s 31-game win streak
