Four losses inside the Top 25 shakes-up the first in-season High School Football America 100 powered by NFL Play Football, the NFL’s initiative to provide fun and engaging experience for players of all ages and skill levels.

Preseason No. 13 Lowndes (Georgia), No. 15 Kentucky No. 17 Grayson (Georgia) and No. 22 Miami Central (Florida) all lost their season-openers over the weekend.

The most shocking defeat was when unranked Creekside beat defending Georgia 7A champ Grayson 19-14. The loss knocked the Rams all the way to No. 147 this week. Creekside makes its first-ever appearance in our national rankings at No. 136.

Lowdnes, which entered its game against Walton as the highest ranked team in Georgia, tumbles to No. 77 in our Top 100 that is created with our proprietary algorithm. Walton, which was honorable mention in our preseason rankings, enters the HSFA 100 at No. 75 after its overtime win.

Preseason No. 154 Carmel jumps to No. 72 this week after its road win at Trinity in Louisville. The Shamrocks, who blew a 17-0 point lead, check-in at No. 76.

Miami Central’s loss was on the west coast to St. John Bosco (California), which moves-up one spot to No. 6 in the nation this week. The Rockets fall eight spots this week.

Aside from Carmel and Walton, Elder (Ohio) is new to the Top 100 this week. The Panthers move from No. 101 to No. 100 after beating Covington Catholic from Kentucky.

Look for the national championship chase to start shaping-up this week as Florida and Texas open their regular seasons. A reminder, High School Football America doesn’t use Florida Kickoff Classics, since they don’t count toward a team’s overall record.

There will be seven head-to-head matchups in the Top 100 this week. Headlining the list is the California/Texas showdown between No. 1 Mater Dei and No. 14 Duncanville. The game can be watched LIVE on FloFootball.com.
