There’s no change in the first twenty-one positions in Week 5 of the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Massillon Washington (Ohio) is the first mover. The Tigers are up four spots to No. 21 after beating three-time reigning Ohio Division I champ St. Edward 31-21 Friday night. It is the third year in a row that the reigning Division II champs haven beaten the Eagles. St. Ed drops from No. 22 to No. 24 this week.

After an 0-2 start, Corona Centennial continues to rebound. The Huskies won their third straight with a 63-39 win over defending Arizona Open Division Liberty, dropping the Lions from No. 29 to No. 69. After starting the year at No. 12, and then falling as low as No. 68, CC now sits at No. 32 in our national rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.

The First Academy out of Orlando, Florida soars from No. 174 to No. 84 this week. The Royals, who had never been in the HSFA 300 until this year, beat No. 86 Atlantic (Delray Beach, Florida) 41-28 to improve to 5-0.

At the top, No. 1 Mater Dei (California) and No. 2 St. John Bosco (California) completed perfect non-league records with solid wins.

MD heads into its bye week after beating No. 13 St. Frances Academy (Maryland). SFA is 2-3, but its losses have come against No. 1 Mater Dei, No. 6 Duncanville (Texas) and No. 12 Orange Lutheran (California).

Mater Dei will open Trinity League play on October 4 against No. 41 Santa Margarita (California). Santa Margarita was shocked by unranked Leuzinger (California) 14-13 on Friday. The upset brings the Olympians into the HSFA 300, for the first time ever, at No. 135.

Bosco, which will play Mater Dei in Trinity League play on October 25, moved to 5-0 with a 35-14 win over No. 129 Pittsburg (California). Bosco also is on a bye week this week before opening Trinity League play on October 4 against Orange Lutheran.

Aside from Leuzinger, there are 14 other new entrants in the Top 300:

  • No. 137 University Lab (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)
