With half of the High School Football America 300 on a bye week last week, there are only minor changes in our latest national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Southern California will have a huge effect on next week’s rankings. The CIF Southern Section quarterfinals feature four big head-to-heads between highly-ranked teams.

CIF Southern Section Division 1 Quarterfinals

  • No. 1 Mater Dei vs. No. 50 Sierra Canyon
  • No. 17 Mission Viejo vs. No. 21 Corona Centennial
  • No. 5 St. John Bosco vs. No. 60 Santa Margarita
  • No. 13 Orange Lutheran vs. No. 49 JSerra

The Texas high school football playoffs begin this weekend with several HSFA 300 matchups in the first round and all in the same region.

In Class 6A Division I, No. 16 North Crowley (10-0) will face No. 171 in the opening round of Region 1 action. Region I also features No. 72 Coppell (10-0) faces No. 196 Prosper (82) and No. 76 Allen (10-0) taking on No. 217 Lewisville (7-3).

The first round of playoffs in Georgia features three HSFA 300 head-to-heads.

They’re all in Class 6A, the state’s largest classification. No. 51 Mill Creek will be on the road to face No. 65 Douglas County; No. 82 North Cobb hosts No. 144 Camden County and No. 143 Valdosta will be on the road to play No. 180 Walton.
