With spring ball wapping-up, it’s time to start thinking about the 2018 season. We’re already working hard on our preseason previews, but what everyone is waiting for is the release of the High School Football America Preseason 100.
Today, I happy to announce that the our national rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm will be released on July 1. We began using our algorithm for our rankings in 2013.
Mater Dei (Santa Ana, California) is our defending “mythical” national champ that has plenty of talent back from last year’s squad. However, head coach Bruce Rollinson will have to replace quarterback J.T. Daniels, who reclassified to graduate early to enroll at USC. In three years as a starter, Daniels shattered many of Mater Dei’s career passing marks. Rollinson will rely on junior-to-be Bryce Young, a 4-star dual threat quarterback with 25 college scholarship offers who transferred to from Cathedral (Los Angeles) after throwing for over 3,400 yards as a sophomore with 41 touchdowns.
Past HSFA National Champs
2013 – Allen (Texas)
2014 – Allen (Texas)
2015 – Colquitt County (Georgia)
2016 – Bishop Gorman (Nevada)
2017 – Mater Dei (California)
Who’s in the hunt for this year’s title? Find out on July 1.
