Week 0 in the CIF Southern Section is right around the corner with games beginning this Thursday.

Six teams from the CIF-SS are ranked in our Preseason Top 100 that is created with our proprietary algorithm, including No. 1 Mater Dei, which won our “mythical” national championship last season.

CIF Southern Section Teams in HSFA Preseason 100

No. 1 Mater Dei

No. 4 St. John Bosco

No. 29 Mission Viejo

No. 40 Corona Centennial

No. 42 Orange Lutheran

No. 74 Chaminade

It won’t take long to find-out if Chaminade is worthy of its ranking. The No. 74 Eagles travel to Westlake Village to face Oaks Christian, which is just outside the Top 100 at No. 102.

On Friday, in a huge interstate game, No. 40 Corona Centennial hosts two-time defending Arizona Class 6A champ Chandler, ranked No. 22 in our preseason national rankings.

With the start of the season so close, there’s a lot of great previews be done by media throughout the state’s most powerful section. I thought it would be helpful to aggregate some of the stories I’ve found online.

Congrats to all of my colleagues for doing such an outstanding job of getting fans ready for 2018!
