Former NFL linebacker and long snapper Allen Aldridge is the Houston Texans first 2022 High School Coach of the Year. Aldridge has been the head coach at Fort Bend Bush High School since 2008.
Alridge was drafted in the fourth round of the 1994 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. He won a Super Bowl ring with the Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII. He finished his eight-year career with the Detroit Lions.

Each Houston Texans COTW will receive recognition on HoustonTexans.com and a $2,500 grant for their football program.
At the conclusion of the high school football season, a Coach of the Year will be selected from the 2022 Coach of the Week winners. They will receive recognition on HoustonTexans.com and social media, a signed certificate, a $5,000 grant for their football program and on-field recognition at our 2023 State of Football game.

School: Bush High School
Years Coaching: 19Why I coach: “My father was a coach, my mother is a retired teacher, my sister is a teacher…..I have a family full of educators. Hard work and dedication will take you far in life. “Class and Character” was my school motto at Willowridge High School, and I carried that with me my entire life. I always wanted to coach High School football.”
Most rewarding/fulfilling part of the job: “When ex-players return and talk about what football has done for them.”
Most misunderstood coaching profession: “Hours and time we put in to work.”
Important school initiatives: “We have a football leadership program. We will do various things around the community. It is important that people see us in the community and not just on the football field. We work on leadership daily.”
