USA Today High School Sports is reporting that former NFL quarterback Steve Walsh has been named director of football at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida and Kevin Wright, who led Carmel HS in Indiana to a 54-11 record and a 2011 state championship, has been named the program’s new head coach.
IMG is expected to be one of the top teams in the country in 2015, thanks to a plethora of Division 1 talent.
Walsh and Wright replace former Heisman Trophy winner Chris Weinke, who had served in both roles at IMG since the football program’s inception. Earlier this year, Weinke left IMG to become the quarterbacks coach of the St. Louis Rams.
