It’s with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Dave Krider passed away on July 4th. His wife Lois made the announcement from Dave’s Twitter account.
Dave went to be with Jesus today on Freedom Day. More details to follow. We covet your prayers at this time. Love, his wife Lois

When I last talked with Dave in mid-April he spoke about many things he was proud of, but at the top of his list was his work with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Dave was the author of four books and is the member of nine Halls of Fame, including Indiana halls for basketball, baseball and sports writing. According to the South Ben Tribune, he’s the only high school writer to be inducted into the U.S. Basketball Writers Hall of Fame.
He worked for USA TODAY and MaxPreps, plus he spent over 28 years at the sports editor at the LaPorte (Indiana) Herald Argus.
Here was his last tweet on May 10th.
I received my greatest honor when inducted into the Fellowship of Christian Athletes National Hall of Champions for 42 years as sponsor or co-sponsor of the La Porte, Ind., High FCA. I call it God’s Earthly Hall of Fame. Many thanks to Scott Staal and the Kansas City committee.
