Maine decides against high school football in the Spring

The 2020 Maine high school football season will not be played this spring. The Maine Principals’ Association has announced that its won’t sponsor high school football in the spring due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

There was also a concern that football, which is still considered high-risk in the state would impact participation in spring sports.

The MPA cancelled the tackle football season, but did allow teams to take part in 7-on-7 flag football.
