Defending state champ Ridgewood will play Wayne Valley Saturday night at MetLife Stadium for the 2024 New Jersey Girls High School Flag Football State Championship. The National Football League‘s New York Jets are hosting the game and will conduct a Youth Girls Flag Clinic for 100 participants before the 7 o’clock kickoff. The clinic will teach fundamentals to grow the game of flag football for girls.
Ridgewood finished the regular season 12-1, taking down Harrison, the NJIC champions, in the semifinals to advance to the championship game. Wayne Valley finished 11-0-1 and defeated Franklin to reach the finals.
This is the fourth season of the Jets New Jersey High School Girls Flag Football League presented by Nike, and supported by Gatorade and Visa. Launched in 2021, the league began with eight schools from the Super Football Conference and quickly expanded to the Big Central Conference (BCC) and the North Jersey Interscholastic Conference (NJIC) with over 65 teams in 2024. This season featured more than 1,700 athletes competing in over 250 games.
