The Whitehouse High School football team in Texas got a thrill over the weekend when Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes returned to his hometown. The reigning NFL MVP made an appearance Saturday in the team’s practice facility after the team spent the morning volunteering and picking up trash in the Whitehouse community.
The visit was documented on the school and team Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Mahomes was a two-sport star at Whitehouse. The son of Major League Baseball pitcher Pat Mahomes was selected in the 37th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Detroit Tigers.

Appreciate @PatrickMahomes for taking the time to visit with our kids today! Was a great experience for these kids to listen to Super Bowl MVP and Whitehouse Alum talk and answer questions. This was an opportunity these boys will never forget! @WhitehouseHS_FB #RFTD pic.twitter.com/jWEr2iVxXA
