It’s never easy for an east coast high school team to beat one from the west coast, but for the second time in four years, St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, New Jersey) has taken-down a nationally-ranked cross-country foe. The Green Knights, ranked No. 6 in the High School Football America 100, beat No. 34 JSerra (California) 23-14 on Saturday.
St. Joe’s won the showdown between two of the historically-best high school football leagues in the country — the Big North United of the North Jersey Super Football Conference and the Trinity League — with a strong defensive effort. Trailing by three, junior linebacker Logan Rivera came-up with a Pick-6 to take the lead that SJR never gave up.
