The Central Red Devils are back at the head of the High School Football America Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Red Devils return to the spot they held for three week earlier in the season by beating former No. 1 Auburn 38-17.

The win puts Central and Auburn in a tie at the top of the 7A Region 2 standings heading into the final weekend of the regular season.

The 7A Region 3 title will be decided this weekend when No. 2 Thompson plays No. 5 Hoover. Thompson, after an 0-2 start, has won seven straight in its drive for a fourth straight 7A state title.

In the latest rankings, created with our proprietary algorithm, Thompson is followed by Auburn at No. 3 and Clay-Chalkville.

Hartselle makes its first appearance of the year in statewide rankings at No. 10.
