A couple of weeks ago, High School Football America took to its Twitter account to find high school football coaches that wanted to promote their student-athletes, coaches, program and communities on our podcast.

Today, we spotlight the first winner — Bill Sytsma, head football coach at Frankford High School in Philadelphia.

A couple weeks ago, I wrote about Frankford and its Thanksgiving rival Boys’ Latin holding a Practice 4 Peace that was designed to shine a spotlight on violence that has affected both high school football programs.

If you listened to the podcast, you heard Coach Sytsma talk about opening-up the team’s locker room over the summer on Friday nights to keep his kids safe from the gun violence in the neighborhood. The locker room is outfitted with a living room set, TV, couches, board games, video games and snacks.

Sytsma has set up a GoFundMe page to fund the Friday night’s that the kids hope will continue during the season. You can donate by clicking here.
