Powell enters the latest High School Football America Tennessee Top 10 high school football rankings

It’s quarterfinal (Division I) and semifinal (Division II) time in the 2021 Tennessee high school football playoffs.

At the top of the rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, No. 1 Oakland and No. 2 Maryville continue on their collision course for a matchup in the 6A state semifinals. In the 6A quarterfinals this week, No. 7 Summit, which won the 5A title in 2020, will look to advance to the semis when it faces No. 9 Ravenwood. Back in October, Summit beat the Raptors 49-28.

Speaking of collision courses, in Division II-AA, No. 5 Lipscomb Academy and No. 6 Christ Presbyterian are one win away from playing for a second straight state title.

New to this week’s ranking is Powell at No. 10. This week, the Panthers will play Rhea County in the 5A quarters.
