Shotwell Stadium is one of Texas’ historic high school football stadiums. Located in Abilene, Shotwell Stadium is home to Abilene High and Abilene Cooper High School.
Shotwell Stadium was built in 1959 and seats 15,000 fans. The stadium was originally called Public Schools Stadium, but shortly after the first game in 1959, it was renamed after longtime Abilene High head football coach P.E. “Pete” Shotwell.
