To quote our friends at EasternPAFootball.com, “this may have been one of Hall of Fame coach Jim Roth’s best coaching jobs.” That’s what the Pennsylvania website wrote in wrapping-up Southern Columbia’s 37-22 win over Westinghouse in Friday’s state’s 2A championship game. It gave the Tigers a state-record sixth straight state title.
Many felt that Southern Columbia, which won three straight High School Football America Small School national championships from 2019 through 2020, wouldn’t get a chance to win a sixth straight after a 5-3 start. Then, after advancing to the final on a seven-game win streak, most felt unbeaten Westinghouse was the favorite.
Southern Columbia had a narrow 15-14 lead in the fourth quarter when Tiger Tradition arrived. Blake Wise’s 61-yard touchdown pass to Braeden Wisloski gave the Tigers the energy it needed for its state-record 13th state title.

Wisloski, a Maryland-recruit, was also tough on the ground with 158-yards on 19-carries.
