After winning his second High School Football America national championship in four years, St. John Bosco head coach Jason Negro is the 2022 HSFA National Coach of the Year. Negro, a Bosco alum, has built the Braves into a national power since taking-over in 2010.
SJB finished 2022 with a 13-1 record with eleven of those wins coming against teams that finished the year ranked in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Below, Coach Negro talks about winning another national title.
Coach Negro has now led Bosco to four California state championships and five Trinity League titles, considered the toughest high school football league in America. From 2011 through 2016, St. John Bosco won a record 23 straight Trinity League games.
It’s likely that Negro will win his 200th career game in 2023. Overall, his record at the Bellflower school is 140-29. Prior to returning to his alma mater, Negro led Trabuco Hills High School in Mission Viejo to a 50-14 record.
