St. Joseph, ranked No. 2 in the High School Football America Connecticut Top 10, rallied from a 28-7 third quarter deficit to beat defending Class S state champ Ansonia 42-36 Monday night to capture the 2017 Class S title. The championship game was moved from Saturday after snow hit the northeast.
