For the first time ever, Staples finishes a high school football season as the No. 1 team in the High School Football America Connecticut Top 10 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Wreckers finish atop the statewide rankings, created with our proprietary algorithm, after capturing the 2023 Class LL championship. It was the school’s first since 2005.
After winning its second straight Class L title, New Canaan finishes No. 2 in the Nutmeg State. The Rams finished No. 1 in 2022.
Greenwich finishes No. 3, followed by two-time Class MM champ North Haven at No. 4, West Haven at No. 5, Wilton at No. 6, Darien at No. 7, Maloney at No. 8, Class M champ Daniel Hand at No. 9 and Windsor at No. 10.
