The people have spoken…or at least the people that voted during our week-long competition designed to determine the fans’ favorite for the state that plays the best high school football. The voting began Monday on our social media platforms — Facebook, Instagram and Twitter — and on highschoolfootballamerica.com with our quarterfinals and wrapped-up Saturday with the championship final between Florida and Texas.
When all the votes were total, Texas easily defeated Florida by garnering 68.8 percent of the votes cast across all of the platforms.
Our contest began Monday with Texas defeating Alabama in the quarterfinals. In the semis, the Lone Star State beat Ohio. Florida beat New Jersey in the quarters and Georgia in the semifinals.
Our proprietary algorithm that creates our national rankings determined the eight states and their seeding for the competition.
