Today was Wild Wednesday and we accomplished a lot of things. Hey, we even practiced without a drop of rain landing on the field..I was impressed.
We knocked out every phase of special teams in one day, no small feat for a Wednesday. Offense and defense got their normal work load in, too.
It was productive and much cleaner today than yesterday. Tomorrow is Thursday and that means we polish it all up.
It was nice to actually get a full week of practice in this week. I almost didn’t know what to do with myself!
Huerta The Hero
Football is fun, so why not have fun once in awhile out on the practice field?
I threw a challenge out to one of our WR’s, Zeke Huerta. I told him if he could kick an extra point the team would be done with practice, no conditioning. I added a little pressure to him to see if he could handle it. The fate of the team resided with, Zeke.
Zeke lined it up and banged it through the uprights, leading to him being mobbed by his teammates. It was a fun moment following a real good practice. So please tell me again why football isn’t fun?
It was a fun day to be a Westerner. Well, it’s always fun to be a Westerner. Don’t ever forget it.
Randomness
-People outside our locker room will never know how much pride we have for our school. Those same people will never know how hard we work and what the meaning of a football family is…unbreakable.
–Steven Morin is back in uniform and all padded up for us. He will be playing on Friday night in Dumas. I’m really happy for, Steven. Great kid coming back from an injury. He has worked hard. Hard work pays off!
–Neal Tull called a great game last week on offense. The whole offensive staff is doing a great job. The same can be said about the defensive staff and DC, Nate Gensler.
-The Yankees won again tonight. They are making it interesting.
-Yogi turned one today.
See you tomorrow.
