There isn’t a lot of movement inside the High School Football America Florida Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. However, the week ahead is filled with four head-to-head Top 25 matchups that will shape next week’s statewide rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Four-time defending state champ St. Thomas Aquinas, ranked No. 2 in the HSFA Florida Top 25, hosts No. 7 Cocoa. The Tigers moved-up a notch after last Friday’s 31-21 win over then No. 13 Venice.
The loss drops Venice four spots to No. 13. This week, the Indians will be looking for their first victory in 2023 when they take-on No. 18 Northwestern (Miami).
The annual Miami showdown between No. 4 Miami Central and No. 22 Booker T. Washington will be played Friday night at Traz Powell Stadium.
The fourth Top 25 showdown will be between No. 11 Bartram Trail and No. 23 Mainland.
There are three big interstate games between teams from nationally-ranked teams from the Sunshine State and teams in the HSFA 300 national rankings:
- No. 4 IMG Academy vs. No. 109 Ben Davis (Indiana)
- No. 9 Chaminade vs. No. 14 Bergen Catholic (New Jersey)
- No. 92 Lakeland vs. No. 11 St. Joseph’s Prep (Pennsylvania)

2023 Florida Top 25’s
