Top-ranked Iona Prep’s claim to No. 1 in the High School Football America New York Top 10, powered by NFL Play Football, will be tested this week when the Gaels face No. 7 St. Anthony’s (Melville). In addition to the statewide rankings, this one will also keep the Gaels on-top of the AAA division of the Catholic High School Football League of Metropolitan New York.
St. Anthony’s enters the game with only one league loss, which ties them with No. 5 Archbishop Stepinac. Iona Prep already owns a 34-7 win over Stepinac.
Hamburg’s St. Francis drops-out of the Top 10 after its third loss in the last three weeks. All three loses were to out-of-state oppponents — Cathedral Prep (Pennsylvania) and Ohio’s Archbishop Hoban and St. Francis DeSales.
