It’s now officially official, Mater Dei (California) is our 2017 national champion with the release of our final Top 100 for the season.  The Monarchs had an outstanding season…maybe one of the best of all-time.

Mater Dei was a perfect 15-0 in winning California’s Open Division championship last weekend, which really clinched our “mythical” national championship.  The Monarchs began the season ranked No. 2 in our Preseason Top 100.

Allen (Texas), which spent the entire season ranked No. 3, moves-up one spot in our final rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm.  The Eagles (16-0) finish No. 2 after winning the Texas 6A Division I title on Saturday by beating nationally-ranked Lake Travis.

Allen flip-flopped spots with IMG Academy (Florida).  The Ascenders, who only played eight games this year, finish No. 3.

The two GEICO State Champions Bowl Series games shuffled the final Top 25.

St. Frances Academy (Maryland) drilled Utah 6A champ Bingham 41-3, which moves the Panthers up from No. 9 to No. 8 in the final rankings.  The Miners tumbled from No. 11 to No. 28.

Arizona 6A champ Chandler jumps nine spots to No. 21 after dismantling former No. 8 Northwestern (Miami, Florida) 55-20.  The loss dropped the Bulls to No. 24 in the final rankings.

College Station, winners of Texas’ Class 5A Division II title, is the only new team in the rankings.  The Cougars move-in at No. 80 after beating former No. 32 Aledo 20-19 in the title game.
