No. 111 Destrehan wins 5th overall Louisiana high school football state championship

Destrehan put the finishing touches on a perfect season Friday night at Caesars Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints. The Wildcats, ranked No. 111 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, beat No. 127 Ruston 17-10 for the Louisiana Non-Select Division I title.

Quarterback Jai Eugene capped a 14-0 season with a 29-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Destrehan now owns five state titles.
