The 2014 regular season is closed and Allen (Texas) hasn’t moved an inch, since we released our preseason Top 25.

Despite some early season defense troubles, the Eagles proved they were very worthy of their preseason #1 ranking in High School Football America’s original Top 25.  The back-to-back Texas Class 5A Division champion Eagles ran the table during the regular season, pushing their win streak to 37 straight, which is currently tied for the eighth longest active win streak in America.  Allen finishes the regular season as our #1 team in the country.

Allen, which has won two straight High School Football America “mythical” national championships, is on a collision course with #24 DeSoto. If both teams win their opening round playoff games, they will meet in the second round of the Texas Class 6A Division I playoffs.  Allen has beaten DeSoto in the state semifinals two years running.

The Texas Class 6A Division I Region I also includes #16 Euless Trinity, which is in the top half of the bracket, which means the Trojans wouldn’t meet Allen or DeSoto until the state quarterfinals. It should be pointed-out that Allen hasn’t played a home game this year, because their $60 million stadium has been closed for repairs.

Skyline (Texas) finishes the regular season ranked #20.  The Raiders are in Region II, which will meet the Region I champ in the state semifinals.

Overall, Texas finishes with five teams in the Top 25.  California and Florida have four teams in the Top 25 at the end of the regular season.

If you take a look back to August 1st when we released our preseason Top 25, you see that twelve teams are still in the Top 25.
