For the first time since 2016, Benedictine Military is a Georgia high school football champ. Friday, at Georgia State’s Center Parc Stadium, the Cadets, ranked No. 25 in the High School Football America Georgia Top 25, beat No. 24 Carver (Columbus) 35-28 for the 4A state championship.

After an 0-2 start to out-of-state opponents, Benedictine rolled to 13 straight victories. The Cadets were led by quarterback, Holden Geriner, an Auburn commit.
Geriner completed 24-of-30 passes for 397 yards with four touchdowns.
