Back in 2019, Mater Dei beat SFA 34-18 with Bryce Young at the helm. Mater Dei came into that game ranked No. 1 in the High School Football America national rankings after winning back-to-back national championships in 2017 and 2018.
St. Frances entered the 2019 contest ranked No. 3 in the nation.
Young, who will possibly hear his name called first Thursday in the 2023 NFL Draft, got the Monarchs out to a 31-6 lead on four rushing touchdowns.
Last year, Mater Dei finished No. 4 in the HSFA 300, powered by NFL Play Football. SFA finished No. 7 in the nation.
