The wait was longer than normal, but once again, Bishop Hendricken finishes No. 1 team in the High School Football America Rhode Island Top 5. The Hawks claimed the top spot by beating No. 2 La Salle Academy 43-22 in the Spring 2021 State Championship Super Bowl.
Bishop Hendricken has now won three straight state championships and nine in the last 10 years. The last time that BH didn’t win a state title was when La Salle won the championship in 2017.
Central climbs one spot to No. 4 after beating East Greenwich 13-12 in the Division I championship game.
Barrington finishes No. 5 after beating former No. 4 St. Raphael 34-6 for the Division II title.
