Servite’s attempt to knock-off Trinity League kingpins Mater Dei and St. John Bosco begins this week. No. 3 Servite travels to top-ranked Mater Dei on Saturday to renew their big rivalry that began in 1961.
If the Friars can knock-off the Monarchs, they’ll then play St. John Bosco next weekend for the league title.
Mater Dei solidified its spot at No. 1 by beating No. 7 Santa Margarita this past weekend.
As far as this week’s California Top 25 powered by NFL Play Football, Edison (Huntington Beach) and Alemany are the biggest movers. Both move-up four spots after big victories.
Edison checks-in at No. 17 after beating Corona del Mar 28-20, which drops the Sea Kings from No. 17 to No. 18. The win moves the Chargers into second place in the Sunset League.
Alemany moves from No. 25 to No. 21 after beating No. 24 Bishop Amat 35-25, which puts the Warriors in control of their destiny in the Mission League.
New to the Top 25 this week is Etiwanda at No. 25.
