Justin Rogers, the new head coach at Colquitt County (Georgia) has some big shoes to fill. Jones is the new head coach of the Packers, taking-over for Rush Propst, who was was let go in March after an investigation into undisclosed reasons.
Propst, who led the Packers to High School Football America’s “mythical” national championship in 2015, took the CC to the stop championship game four of the last five year, winning state titles in 2014 and 2015.
Jones led Jones County to a 45-15 record over the last five years. Last year, Jones County finished 8-3, losing in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs to eventual state champ Bainbridge.
Last year, Colquitt County finished No. 27 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings after losing to Milton in the 7A championship game. The Packers entered the game ranked No. 4 in the nation.
