With this weekend’s Georgia high school football championships at Mercedes Benz Stadium being moved back to December 11 and 12 because of the Major League Soccer championship match, teams will have an extra three or four days to prepare.
Colquitt County heads into the Class 7A championship game against No. 4 Milton as the No. 1 team in the state in our rankings that are created with our proprietary algorithm. A state championship will keep the Packers in the hunt for our “mythical” national championship. CC is currently ranked No. 4 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings.
Colquitt County is one of thirteen Georgia teams in our national rankings.
Warner Robins enters the HSFA 100 at No. 84 after knocking-off two-time defending champ Rome, which tumbles to No. 95 this week after seeing its 40-game win streak come to an end. The Demons will play Bainbridge for the 5A on December 11.
Lee County, which will be looking for back-to-back AAAAAA titles, moves into the national rankings at No. 86. LC will play Northside (Warner Robins) for the 6A title on December 11.
The fourth head-to-head Georgia Top 25 championship game is in Class 4A where No. 2 Blessed Trinity will try to defend its state title against No. 16 Cartersville in a battle of unbeatens.
