Christ Presbyterian Academy, led by former NFL quarterback Ingle Martin, beat Lipscomb Academy, led by former NFL QB Trent Dilfter, 35-28 on Thursday in the Tennessee Division II Class AA state championship. It was Martin’s third state title in six appearances, since taking-over the CPA program in 2011. Dilfer was playing in his first state title game since taking-over the Lions in 2019.

CPA owned a 21-7 halftime time, but Lipscomb battled back and tied the game at 28-28 on the following score.

The win avenged CPA’s mid-October 20-14 loss to Lipscomb, which entered the game ranked No. 7 in the latest High School Football America Top 10.
