It didn’t take long for former NFL quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to find out what he’ll do in retirement. Bridgewater, who announced his retirement after the Detroit Lions‘ playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, is the new head football coach at his alma mater, Miami Northwestern in south Florida.
Bridgewater was a 4-star recruit during his time with the Bulls. During his three years as a starter at Northwestern, he threw for over 6,700 yards with 70 touchdowns while rushing for 15 more as one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the nation.
After starring at the University of Louisville, Bridgewater was selected as the 32nd overall pick by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2014 NFL Draft.
During his 10 seasons in the National Football League, Bridgewater played for six teams. For his career he threw for more than 15,000 yards with 75 touchdowns.
Bridgewater takes over a program that went 4-6 last year. Playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation, the Bulls were ranked No. 244 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
