After beating former No. 3 Belleville in double overtime in the Division 1 state semifinals, the Lakers move from No. 6 to No. 3 in this week’s statewide rankings. Next week, West Bloomfield will go after its first-ever high school football state championship next week against No. 1 and defending state champ Davison.
DeWitt makes a four-spot jump to No. 6 after shutting-out former No. 5 Muskegon 14-0, which advances the Panthers to the Division 3 state championship. Next week, DeWitt will play defending state champ River Rouge.
