Since its season opening loss to No. 2 Southlake Carroll, Highland Park has been on a steady rise in the High School Football America Texas Top 25 powered by NFL Play Football. After beating state-ranked Longview 21-16 on Friday, the Scots climb two spots to No. 7 in the latest rankings created with our proprietary algorithm.
Highland Park has moved-up eight spots over the last month.
Westfield is also up two spot this week to No. 9. The Mustangs own Top 25 wins over No. 13 North Shore and No. 23 Spring.
Bridgeland tumbles 15 spots to No. 21 this week after losing to Cypress Ranch on Saturday. The loss snapped the Bears’ 12-game district win streak.
There are two big head-to-head matchups inside the Top 25 this week.
In Denton, No. 4 Guyer, ranked No. 24 in the High School Football America 100 national rankings, hosts No. 12 Allen. The win goes to the top of District 5-6A. Allen won last year’s game 56-38.

The other big game is the Battle of Beltline between No. 19 Cedar Hill (4-2) and No. 22 DeSoto (4-2). It’s a tough two-week stretch for Cedar Hill, which will play No. 6 Duncanville the following Week. Duncanville beat DeSoto 42-21 on September 17.
