As we reach the quarterfinal round of the 2020 Georgia high school football playoffs, the High School Football America Georgia Top 25 is primed for some big time head-to-head matchups.
In Class 7A, three of the four quarterfinal games are head-to-head Top 25 games. Heading the trio is the showdown between No. 2 Colquitt County and No. 3 Norcross. The winner of that one gets the winner of top-ranked Grayson and West Forsyth. No. 4 Lowndes travels to No. 7 Milton with the winner advancing to the state semifinals against the winner of No. 14 Parkview vs. No. 15 Collins Hill.
There are also three head-to-head meetings in Class 6A — No. 8 Lee County at No. 25 River Ridge, No. 10 Allatoona at No. 19 Westlake and No. 20 Buford hosts No. 23 Langston Hughes.
The 5A bracket features No. 5 Blessed Trinity hosts No. 9 Warner Robins and No. 21 Cartersville travels to No. 22 Ware County.
One of the best games in the 2nd round of the playoffs was in 3A where No. 6 Cedar Grove, the two-time defending champs, beat Rockmart 30-27 in three overtimes.
