Just like in our national rankings, Mater Dei returns to No. 1 in the High School Football America California Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football. The Monarchs return to their preseason position after Kahuku (Hawaii) upset former No. 1 St. John Bosco 30-23.

While Bosco has a bye week going into Trinity League play, Mater Dei will be on the east coast playing St. Frances Academy in Maryland. After starting No. 3 in the nation in the preseason rankings, SFA has fallen to No. 43 after a 1-4 start.

Two other teams have been interstate matchups. No. 3 Corona Centennial, No. 27 nationally, plays No. 40 Liberty from Arizona. No. 4 Sierra Canyon, which rose to No. 17 nationally this week, will host No. 59 Saguaro from Arizona.
