As a part of our relationship with NFL Play Football, we talk with former NFL players who are coaching high school football. Current Cherry Creek head coach Dave Logan is one of the best to ever to make that transition.
At the end of last year, Logan spoke with High School Football America co-founder Jeff Fisher after leading the Bruins to a third straight Colorado 5A state championship. That led to CC finishing No. 70 in the High School Football America 100, powered by NFL Play Football.
Since taking over at Cherry Creek in 2012, Logan has won state titles in 2014, 2019, 2020 and 2021. In 2021, Logan was inducted into the National Federation of State High School Associations Hall of Fame.
Logan began his coaching career in 1993 at Arvada West High School. He won his first state title there in 1997. He then moved-on to Chatfield in 2000, winning the state championship in 2001. From 2003 through 2011, Logan coached Mullen to four titles, including a three-peat from 2008-2010. He is pictured above during the last of those three 5A championship games.
Logan is now tied Limon High School’s Lloyd Gaskill for most state titles in Colorado’s history. Logan is also the only coach in the United States to win titles at four different high schools.
