The 2019 high school football season for No. 9 Katy was bookended by No. 19 North Shore. Katy opened the season with a 24-21 over the defending Texas Class 6A Division I state champs, who entered the season ranked No. 10 in the High School Football America Preseason 100. Friday night, North Shore gained revenge with a 56-35 win over the Tigers to advance the Mustangs to next week’s 6A-I state quarterfinals.
The first quarter-and-a-half was fought after North Shore opened the scoring on its first drive with Zach Evans scoring on a short run.

The Mustangs scored two late first-half touchdowns, which gave North Shore a 35-21 lead at the half.
Dematrius Davis had repeat on his mind throughout the contest. He had his hand in six touchdowns, finishing with 134 yards on the ground with three scores and 283 yards through the air with three touchdowns.
