The Cocoa Tigers will go after their third straight Florida high school football championship Thursday afternoon at South Dade Kia Field at Pitbull Stadium on the campus of Florida International University in Miami. The Tigers, ranked No. 38 in the High School Football America 300 national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football, will play No. 100 Gadsden County for the Class 2A title.
Cocoa, which won the discontinued Class 2S championships in 2022 and 2023, brings a 10-3 record into the contest. Its three losses we against No. 10 IMG Academy, No. 11 Venice and No. 37 Norland.
Gadsden County is 13-1 with HSFA 300 wins over No. 66 McCallie (Tennessee II-AAA state champ), No. 173 Booker T. Washington (Miami), No. 191 Bolles School, No. 234 Lincoln (Tallahassee) and No. 283 Florida State University High School. The Jaguars loss was to No. 92 Coffee (Georgia)
This will be Gadsden County’s first ever championship appearance, while Cocoa is playing in its tenth title game, looking for its seventh overall title.
