Kearney’s 41-40 overtime upset of defending Class A state champ Bellevue West shakes-up the High School Football America Nebraska Top 5 heading into the state semifinals. Kearney pulled-off the upset after losing a 33-20 fourth quarter lead and going for a 2-point conversion in OT.
Kearney will face No. 3 Elkorn South, which beat former No. 3 Lincoln Southeast 28-7 last week. In the other Class A semifinal, new No. 1 Omaha Westside will take-on No. 2 Millard South.
