No. 1 Milton and No. 2 Colquitt County solidified their spots atop the High School Football America Georgia Top 25 high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.

Milton jumped out to a 13-0 lead on the way to a 13-10 win over No. 3 Buford. This week, the Eagles head to south Florida to face American Heritage (Plantation, Florida). The game, which is part of the high-profile Broward County National Football Showcase, will have a big impact on our national rankings that will be released Sunday night.

Milton enters the game ranked No. 9 in the HSFA 300. American Heritage, which will be playing is season opener, is ranked No. 24.

Colquitt County knocked-off Utah West High School using a freshman at quarterback. Cohen Lawson completed 8-of-10 passes for 133 yards and a TD. He also ran for one in the Packers 45-28 victory over West, which entered the game ranked No. 7 in the Utah Top 10.

The first change in the first in-season Top 25 comes at No. 12 where Douglas County is up one spot after an impressive 42-7 win over reigning 3A champ Cedar Grove.

Collins Hill soars into the Top 25 after an impressive come-from-behind 20-19 win over Preseason No. 17 Grayson. The Eagles sit at No. 17 after scoring 16 unanswered points after falling behind 19-3. The Rams drop a notch to No. 18.

CH will look to improve that No. 17 ranking when the Eagles face No. 14 Woodward Academy this week. The War Eagles are coming off a 24-14 los to No. 4 Carrollton in a game that was seen on ESPN.

Grayson will try to find the win column this week against Alabama-power Thompson, winners of four 7A titles in the last five years.

Langston Hughes enters the statewide rankings. The Panthers sit a No. 19 after rolling by Preseason No. 19 Westlake 52-21.

Westlake drops out and so does Preseason No. 21 Newton after losing to Eastside (Covington) 26-15.
