High School Football America southern region is packed with powerful high school football programs. The teams in the 2021 Preseason High School Football America South Region Top 25 are ranked between No. 3 and No. 65 in our national rankings.

The South Region Top 25, power powered by NFL Play Football, the NFL’s initiative to provide fun and engaging experience for players of all ages and skill levels, is led by Alabama’s Thompson High. The Warriors have won back-to-back 7A titles and start the season ranked No. 3 in the High School Football America 100.

Thompson is one of three Alabama schools in the regional rankings. Hoover starts 2021 at No. 11, followed by Hewitt-Trussville at No. 13.

The South Region is led by Florida, which has nine teams ranked in the Top 25. Leading the way is St. Thomas Aquinas at No. 2, followed by defending national champ IMG Academy at No. 3.

Georgia is second in the region with six Top 25 teams. Leading the way is Lowndes at No. 4.

The southern region is made-up of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee.
