Pierce County enters 2024 as the state’s two-time reigning Class 2A state champs . Under the state’s new alignment , the Bears find themselves in Region 3 with Appling County, Cook, Crisp County and Tatnall County.
PC will open the season against Alabama AA runner-up Coosa Christian . The Bears will close the regular season against Appling County, the only team to beat them last year, 17-14.
New to the class is two-time reigning Class A Division I champ Prince Avenue Christian. The Wolverines are in Region 8 with East Jackson, Franklin County, Hart County, Hebron Christian Academy and Tattnall County.
PAC has a formidable schedule with two nationally-ranked out of state teams.
On August 24, Prince Avenue will travel to play North Carolina-power Mallard Creek, ranked No. 230 in the High School Football America 300 preseason national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football . Then they travel to defending South Carolina 4A champ Westside on September 20. Westside starts the season No. 140 in the High School Football America 300 preseason national rankings, powered by NFL Play Football .
